Watch a thunderstorm from the window sometime. Loud, dramatic and gone in forty minutes. Most arguments are the same.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Intensity and duration are unrelated, though in the middle of something loud they feel like the same thing. A conflict at its peak seems as though it will define everything from now on, and then it passes, and within a day the volume is gone and what remains is smaller and more workable. Noise is not a measure of damage.
When something is at full volume, avoid making decisions or declarations inside it. Say less and let the weather move. Come back to the actual question tomorrow, when it has returned to a normal size.
When did a huge fight turn out to blow over?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
