A view count measures how many thumbs paused, not how much you matter.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A number counts attention, and attention is not the same as value. Thumbs stop for all sorts of reasons, most of them accidental, and a count says nothing about whether what you made reached anyone or changed anything. Treating it as a score turns something arbitrary into a daily judgment on your worth.
Decide in advance what you actually want from the thing you make. If it is to get better, the measure is whether this one improved on the last. If it is to reach a particular person, then one honest message means more than ten thousand passing thumbs.
Which number have you let stand in for your worth?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
