Nobody meets you at three inches from a bathroom mirror under a bad bulb. Stop grading yourself from there.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Close inspection under bad light is not how anyone else ever encounters you. People see you in motion, at a normal distance, while you are talking or laughing or concentrating on something. What you study up close in a mirror is a version of you that exists nowhere in the world outside that room.
If you catch yourself standing there cataloguing, step back and shorten the visit. Judge from a normal distance or do not judge at all. Whatever it is you are examining, it has almost certainly never been the thing anyone remembers about being near you.
Which flaw do you inspect that nobody else ever sees?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
