Age teaches the difference between having energy and knowing where energy belongs.

RESILIENCE
Having energy and aiming it are different capacities, and they tend to arrive in opposite decades. Early on there is plenty of fuel and no map, so enormous effort goes into things that will not matter. Later the fuel is limited and the map is good, and a smaller amount of work produces far more, because almost none of it is wasted.
Wherever you are, look at where your energy actually went last week rather than where you meant it to go. If a large share went to things you would not choose, the problem is aim, not capacity. Redirecting one recurring commitment usually does more than trying to generate more drive.
