Doing what you’re told and agreeing with it are different. Know which one you’re doing before someone asks.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Compliance and agreement can look identical from outside and feel very different inside. You can carry out an instruction perfectly while thinking it is wrong, and the gap between those two is easy to lose track of until someone asks you to defend a position you never actually held. Keeping them separate in your own head is the whole job.
Notice when you are going along with something rather than endorsing it. Say so to yourself even if you say nothing aloud. Then you can choose, later and calmly, whether that particular thing is one you want to raise.
Where are you going along with something you quietly reject?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
