Make your own company someplace worth sticking around. Good books, kind thoughts, a decent playlist.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Time alone goes better when there is something worth being alone with. If the only thing waiting in the quiet is boredom and an unkind commentary, of course you will avoid it, and the avoidance gets read as needing people when it is closer to needing better furniture. What you keep in there can be chosen.

Stock it deliberately. A few books you actually want to read, music that suits your own head, a way of talking to yourself that is not hostile. Do one of those this week, and the hour by yourself stops being something to get through.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What makes your own company good to be in?

Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
