Maturity is learning that peace can feel unfamiliar without being boring.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
After enough time in a difficult environment, calm registers as wrong. The absence of tension feels like something is missing, and the mind starts hunting for the problem it assumes must be hiding. That discomfort is not evidence that peace is dull; it is evidence that you were tuned by circumstances that no longer apply, and tuning takes a while to adjust.
When quiet feels unsettling, name what you are doing: getting used to something better. Give it a few months before deciding you need more stimulation. Some restlessness is genuine and worth acting on, and a fair amount is only unfamiliarity wearing off.
Does calm feel strange to you when it finally arrives?
