Pressing pause is not the same as pressing stop. Know the difference and use both.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Stopping for a while and stopping for good get confused constantly, usually by the person doing it. A rest taken deliberately, with a date on it, protects the thing you are resting from, while an unplanned drift quietly becomes an ending nobody chose. The difference is whether you decided.

If something has become too much right now, pause it on purpose and say when you will look again. Write the date somewhere you will see it. If the honest answer is that you are finished, let that be a decision too, rather than a slow fade.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Did you stop something entirely when a pause would have done?
