Record your grandma laughing. One day that clip will be worth more than anything in your camera roll.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Voices are the first thing to go. Faces hold up reasonably well because photographs exist, but the sound of how somebody spoke, their timing, the particular way they laughed, fades within a few years unless something caught it. Almost nobody thinks to record it while it is still an everyday sound in the house.

Take thirty seconds of video this month of an older person you love simply talking. Not posed, not an occasion, ideally them telling a story they have told before. Label it and put it somewhere you will find it again.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Whose voice would you want to hear again in ten years?
