“When I’m older” sounds like a plan until you’re older and still saying it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Postponement disguises itself as intention, because both involve believing you will do the thing. The difference is that a plan has a date and a first step, while the other is a feeling that renews indefinitely. Nothing in that phrase ever expires, which is exactly why it can be repeated for decades.
Take one of your someday items and give it a date this year, even an arbitrary one. Then do the first small action within a week. A plan is not what you intend, it is what has already started.
What have you been postponing until some vague later date?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
