A friendship that ends is not a friendship that failed. Some people are there for one stretch of your life because that is the stretch where you fit, and when the circumstances change the closeness goes with them. The good it did you does not get withdrawn. You keep the jokes, the habits you picked up, the version of yourself you practiced there.

Think of one person you have drifted from and name something you still carry from them. Let that be enough without needing to restart anything. Missing a season is allowed even when nobody did anything wrong.
