Some people only like the old version of you because they knew where to find it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Some people hold an old picture of you and prefer it. Change is inconvenient for anyone who had you figured out, because the earlier version was predictable and easy to place beside themselves. Their resistance is usually about their own position rather than about your progress. It can still land as a request to shrink back.
Keep changing and let them catch up on their own schedule. Where you can, explain rather than defend, since some of them are simply surprised. If a person needs the old version permanently, that tells you what the friendship was resting on.
Who still talks to a version of you that’s gone?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
