“Reliable” isn’t something you say about yourself. It’s something people say after watching.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Some qualities cannot be awarded to yourself. Claiming one is close to evidence against it, because a person who really is dependable has no need of the label, since their record supplies it. What you can control is behavior, and the description belongs to whoever is watching. Announcing it mostly signals that you would like to be seen that way.
Stop describing yourself and let a few months of follow-through do it instead. Keep the promises small enough to seem unimportant. If you want to know how you are doing, listen to what people assume you will do.
Which label do you claim that nobody else has given you?
