Luck was on your team at least once this year. Say so instead of pretending it was all skill.

Luck becomes invisible from inside a good result. The timing, the person who put in a word, the opening that happened to exist that year all dissolve into the story, leaving only your effort, which is the part you remember clearly. Saying the rest out loud takes nothing away from the work. It only makes the account accurate.

Name one break that went your way this year and say it to someone. Thank whoever was part of it while you are there. Then pass a similar advantage to somebody standing where you were.
