The goal isn’t to never fail an audition. It’s to walk into each one more prepared than the last.

Never failing is not a reachable goal, so it makes a poor measure. Panels are unpredictable and partly arbitrary, which means results are not yours to control, and setting a target you cannot control guarantees you will feel like you are losing. Preparation is the part that belongs to you. It also improves steadily, provided you keep track of it.
So judge each audition by one question: was I better prepared than last time. Keep a short record of what you did beforehand and how it went, then add one thing each round. Results follow eventually, and meanwhile you have something real to measure.
What will you have ready next time that you lacked last time?
