Being first in line at the audition doesn’t help. Being ready when your name is called does.

Arriving first signals keenness and does nothing else. The clock that matters starts when they say your name, and where you stood in the queue has no bearing on whether your hands know what to do, which is the only question the room is answering. Effort spent looking prepared gets subtracted from being prepared. One is visible and the other is the actual thing.
So use the waiting deliberately instead of competing for position. Warm up, run the opening quietly, breathe. Being late is a problem and being first is not an advantage, so spend the difference on the part that counts.
Are you preparing, or just making sure you look eager?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
