A legacy at your first job can be a cleaner checklist the next hire actually uses. Start small, leave something.

LEADERSHIP
Leaving a mark does not require authority or a long stay. A better closing list, a note taped inside a cupboard, a fixed order of steps that saves the next person twenty minutes: those outlast you in the building long after anyone remembers your name. Small improvements are available to the newest person on the rota, which is exactly why they go unmade. Nobody thinks it is their job.
Before your next shift ends, write down the thing that confused you in week one. Fix the explanation so the next person does not hit it, and leave it where they will find it.
What could you leave behind that makes the next person’s job easier?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
