Most “dream jobs” are regular jobs with parts you love. Ask what the boring days look like before you commit.

Every job, including the one you are dreaming about, is mostly repetition and waiting. People who love their work are not spared that, they just find the good parts worth the rest. Trouble starts when you picture only the good parts and then feel cheated by the ordinary ones.
Find someone who does the thing you want and ask what their Tuesday looks like, not their best day. Ask what the paperwork is. If the boring version still sounds bearable, that is a better sign than excitement.
Have you asked what the boring days of that job involve?
