If your goal only makes sense with an audience, check whether it’s a goal or a performance.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

A goal that collapses the moment nobody is looking tells you what it was made of. A real aim keeps its shape in private: you would still train, still write, still learn it even if you could not mention it. A performance needs witnesses to exist at all, and it quietly reshapes itself around whatever gets a reaction.

Try one week of pursuing the thing without telling anyone. Post nothing, mention nothing, just do it. If the motivation drains out immediately, that is information rather than a failing, and you can decide what you actually want from there.
