People often argue with the outcome instead of examining what keeps producing it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

It is easier to be upset with a result than to examine the machinery producing it. Arguing with the outcome feels like engagement, but it changes nothing, and the same conditions keep delivering the same thing next month. The frustration becomes a substitute for the inquiry rather than the start of it.

When you catch yourself complaining about something for the third time, switch the question. Instead of why this keeps happening, ask what would have to be different for it not to. Then look at whether any of that is within reach.
