A chain of small decisions can produce an outcome nobody consciously chose.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Outcomes can be authored by nobody. A series of small, locally sensible decisions, each made by a different person or by you on a different day, can add up to a situation no one would have chosen if it had been presented whole. That is how you end up somewhere you never agreed to go.

Occasionally step back and describe your current situation as though someone had designed it deliberately. If the design looks wrong, the fix is at the level of the pattern, not the last step.
