Saying “I’ll start Monday” every week is a choice you make every week.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Monday is a device for feeling as though the decision has been made while nothing has changed. The intention collects the credit, the start date keeps sliding, and the postponing itself becomes the habit, better established than the thing you keep meaning to begin. Deciding again each week is still deciding, seven times over.
Do a tiny version today instead, in whatever time is left: ten minutes, one page, one walk round the block. Make the first instance small enough that waiting for a better day makes no sense. Starting badly on a Wednesday beats starting perfectly on a Monday that keeps moving.
