Promising more than you can deliver turns a small yes into a big letdown.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Overpromising feels generous in the moment and lands as a letdown later. The person on the other side stops planning around maybe and starts planning around your yes, so when it does not arrive, they lose more than the thing itself. You bought a pleasant minute with their trust. A smaller yes, kept, is worth far more.

Before you agree to something, say the timeline out loud and check it against the week you actually have, including practice and shifts. Offer the version you are sure of: part of it, or by Friday instead of tomorrow. If you have already overcommitted, tell them today rather than at the deadline.
