Don’t pick a career by its salary average. Pick it knowing what a normal Tuesday in it looks like.

RESILIENCE
An average salary describes a whole industry, including people with twenty years in it and a situation nothing like yours. What you will actually live is a Tuesday: the hours, the room, the people, what you do in the sixth hour of the day. Plenty of well-paid work is unbearable in exactly those details, and plenty of ordinary pay comes with a Tuesday you would take happily.
Find two people doing the job and ask what their last normal Tuesday looked like, start to finish. Ask what the worst part is and whether it gets better. If you can, spend a day watching.
Do you know what an ordinary workday looks like in that job?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
