Shaky hands before a presentation don’t mean you’ll be bad. Plenty of pros still get them.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nerves are your body getting ready, not a forecast of how it will go. Adrenaline shows up as shaking hands and a fast heart whether you are about to struggle or about to be excellent. People who speak for a living still feel it; they have just stopped reading it as a warning.

Before the next time you have to stand up in front of a room, notice the shaking and call it readiness. Give your hands somewhere to be, on the podium or holding your cards, and start anyway. The feeling usually settles about thirty seconds in.
