Make the thing small enough to finish this week. A finished small thing beats an unfinished epic.

CREATIVITY
Ambition at the planning stage is cheap and often expensive later. A project scoped to your actual available hours gets finished, and finishing is what teaches you things, because the lessons live in the last stretch. An epic that stalls at thirty per cent teaches you almost nothing except how to feel bad about it.
Take your current idea and cut it until it fits this week. One song instead of an album, one page instead of a comic, two minutes instead of twenty. Finish that, and then decide whether the bigger version is still the one you want.
Could your big plan shrink into something finished by Friday?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
