Making things with friends is how plenty of bands started. Start the thing in somebody’s garage.

Most groups that went on to do anything began with people who were simply around. Not auditions, not a plan, just whoever lived nearby and was free on a Sunday. Proximity and willingness beat talent at the beginning, because the main requirement is that the thing happens at all. Waiting to assemble the right people usually means never assembling any.
Text two friends this week and pick a time and a room. Do not wait until everyone is good enough, or until you know what you are making. Spend two hours making something badly, and then book the next one before everybody leaves.
Who would start something with you in a garage?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
