Safety and silence arrive as a pair. Keeping everything private does protect you from criticism, and it also removes any chance of somebody being moved, surprised, or glad the thing exists. Work cannot do its job inside a folder. Closing off the bad outcome closes off the good one with it.
Choose one finished piece and let it out this week, somewhere small if that is easier. Decide in advance that you will not delete it for seven days. Then watch what actually happens, which is usually less dramatic than you expected.
