Showing up five days a week at sixty percent beats one perfect day and four excuses.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Consistency compounds and intensity does not. Five moderate sessions give you five chances to learn, five reinforcements of the habit, and a much smaller gap for doubt to grow in, while one excellent day leaves four days of drift. The partial version also keeps the skill warm, which is worth more than extra effort in a single sitting. Frequency is the lever.

Set a daily amount you could manage on a bad day and keep to it for two weeks. Allow yourself to do it badly. Count days rather than quality, and only raise the bar once the streak has become boring.
