Learning to cook means burning things. The point is to burn fewer things each month.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Progress in anything practical is a falling error rate rather than a clean break into competence. You do not stop burning things one day; you burn slightly fewer, then slightly fewer again, and that gradual shape is easy to miss from inside it. Measuring yourself against perfection hides real improvement. Measuring against last month shows it clearly.
Count something this month that you can compare again in four weeks. Dishes ruined, missed notes, late shifts. Do not aim for zero, just for lower than it was, and look at both numbers at the end.
Are your same old errors happening less often now?
