Before you blame the violin, check whether you rosined the bow. Most problems are prep problems.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Most failures trace back to setup rather than ability. The bow with no rosin, the pen with no ink, the instructions nobody read, the phone at four percent; in each case the work was never going to go well, and it is tempting to conclude that you are simply bad at it. Checking preparation first saves you from the wrong lesson. It is also quicker than trying harder.
When something goes badly, run through the setup before the conclusions. Right gear, right place, right time, enough sleep. Fix what was missing and try once more before deciding anything about yourself.
