Dancers often mark steps at half energy in rehearsal to save something for the show. Pacing isn’t laziness.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Holding something back is part of a plan, not a failure of effort. Marking at half energy protects the legs that have to perform later, and a dancer who gives everything at every rehearsal has nothing left when it counts. Knowing which repetitions need full power is a skill in its own right. Treating every moment as the moment is a reliable way to arrive exhausted.

Look at your week and decide where the real output has to land. Then ease off somewhere else on purpose: the warm-up, the rough draft, the Tuesday session. Save the top of your effort for what you saved it for.
