Productive people eventually learn that subtraction is a serious skill.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Removing things is a genuine skill and it develops late. Anyone can add commitments, tools, and projects; deciding what to cut requires judgment about what matters, willingness to disappoint someone, and tolerance for being wrong in a visible way. It is the harder half of getting anything done.
Practise it deliberately. Once a month, remove one commitment, one tool, and one recurring obligation. Treat it as maintenance rather than as an admission of overreach.
What have you taken away lately rather than added?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
