The church greeter might be the only person who smiles at someone all week. Never think that job is small.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Small gestures land harder than their size suggests, because you never see the week somebody walked in carrying. A held door and a face glad to see you can be the only warm moment in a long stretch of days. The job looks minor from outside and is not minor to whoever receives it. Nobody is in a position to measure the weight of their own kindness.
Pick one place you pass daily, a hallway, a locker row, a doorway at work, and look people in the eye there. You will never know which greeting mattered. Give it anyway, including on days you are not in the mood.
Whose week could you change with nothing more than a smile?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
