Being thankful for small things isn’t settling. It’s training your eyes for big ones.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Noticing small things is eye training, not a downgrade of your ambitions. If you cannot see what is good about an ordinary Tuesday, you will not suddenly become able to see it when something impressive arrives, because the equipment is the same in both cases. People who get the thing they wanted and feel nothing usually never practiced on the small stuff.

Keep your plans as large as they are. Then practice on something minor today, and notice that wanting more and appreciating this are not in competition.
