Manual work teaches two things quickly, and neither is about grass. Pushing a mower in a line you think will be straight and then looking back at the wobble teaches you that skill exists where you assumed none did. Doing it for somebody who then walks out and looks at the edges teaches you that people quietly care enormously about things you had never considered.
Do one job properly for somebody this week rather than quickly. Ask what they want before you start, and look for the detail they are going to check.
