A friend who notices you went quiet and texts “you good?” is paying a kind of attention most people never do.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Noticing an absence is harder than noticing a presence. Nobody announces that they have gone quiet, so catching it means somebody knew your normal volume and registered the change. That is attention nobody asked them for, which is rare at any age. Most people are busy enough to respond only to what gets waved in front of them.
Keep a short mental list of who checks on you, and let them know you clocked it. Then run it backwards: think of one person who has been less around lately and send the plainest version of that question. You do not need the right words.
Who noticed your silence the last time you withdrew?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
