A school bus driver steers a giant vehicle full of chaos and still says good morning. Respect that.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Doing a demanding job while being pleasant is two jobs. Forty feet of vehicle, icy roads, a mirror full of noise, a schedule that does not flex, and on top of that a choice to greet every person who climbs the steps. The greeting is not part of the route. It is something a person decided to add.

Say it back, by name if you know it, and say it on the mornings you feel like a rock. If you do not know the name, ask once. Riding with someone five days a week and never learning what to call them is a gap worth closing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who greets you kindly while doing a genuinely hard job?
