Bakers, delivery drivers and garbage crews are already halfway through their day when you hit snooze.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The morning you wake up into has already been assembled. Bread baked, trucks loaded, bins emptied, streets cleared, all of it done between two and seven by people whose shift ends about when yours starts. The town arrives finished, which makes it look like it came that way. It did not; it was built again overnight.

Be awake for one piece of it this week, early enough to see the trucks out or a bakery lit before the sign flips. Then be good to the people in it: have your bins out on time, be ready at the door, say good morning first.
