Somebody taught you to tie your shoes, ride a bike and read a clock. You still use their patience every single day.

The skills so basic you cannot remember learning them were the slowest and hardest to teach. Tying a lace took an adult crouching down forty times without getting annoyed, and reading a clock took the same question answered over and over in the same tone. All of it was installed slowly, by somebody with a lot of patience.
Work out who did it. Then say so specifically: not thanks for everything, but thanks for sitting on the floor with the laces. If that person is not reachable, teach one small thing to somebody younger with the same patience and call it even.
Which basic skill do you use daily and never credit?
