Rain on a car roof, a tent or a tin roof is free music. Stop and listen to the whole song once.

Some of the best sound you will ever hear is not produced by anyone. Rain on thin metal has rhythm, volume changes and an ending, and the reason it works is that it was not designed for you. Given the whole of your attention, it behaves like a piece of music.

When it starts, go where the roof is loudest and stay until the rain eases, with nothing playing. Lights off helps. If you want to keep it, record a minute without filming anything, and you will have something better than a photo of a wet street.
