You stopped jumping in puddles at some point. Nobody’s stopping you. Your shoes will dry.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most of what you have stopped doing was never actually forbidden. At some point you decided a thing was childish and quietly retired it, no adult asked you to, and the only lasting consequence is that a small bit of fun left your life. The cost of the retired thing is usually trivial and recoverable. Wet shoes dry; the habit of not bothering does not undo itself.

Pick one thing you used to do and do it this week. Jump in the puddle, run instead of walking, climb the wall. Pay attention to who actually objects, which will probably turn out to be nobody.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did you quit doing for fun with no good reason?
