Nobody checks the mirror after one week of braces and sees straight teeth. Stop checking your progress every hour.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Measuring faster than something moves gives you nothing but noise. Teeth move in weeks, fitness in months, skill in seasons, and if you check hourly you will see no change at all, which your head will read as proof that nothing is working. Checking mostly just supplies discouragement at a high frequency.
So set the interval to match the process and then stop looking in between. Photographs once a month, weights once a fortnight, the recording of yourself playing once a term. Put the date in your phone, and treat looking early as breaking the rule.
How often do you check on progress that moves by the month?
