A team will forgive your mistakes faster than your secrets.

Errors are expected and absorbed: everyone drops a pass, has a bad game, and the group has a vocabulary for moving past it. Concealment is different, because it tells people the version of you they were working with was incomplete. Hidden things cost you the assumption that you are straightforward, which is what a team runs on.

If there is something your group should know and you have been sitting on it, say it this week, early and plainly, before it is discovered. The reaction is almost always smaller than the one you have been imagining.
