If standing for something has never once cost you, you might just be standing near it.

Positions that have never cost anything are cheap to hold and easy to mistake for convictions. If every stand you take is popular in your own circle, you may be agreeing with the people nearest you, which feels identical from inside. The test is not how strongly you feel about it. The test is whether you have ever paid for it.
Think of something you believe and ask what it has actually cost you so far. If the honest answer is nothing, find the one place it is unpopular and say it there once, without a speech. That is also how you discover whether you believe it.
What has believing something actually cost you lately?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
