Shortcuts are loans with interest, and the interest gets paid by whoever deals with the thing later, which is usually you. Work done properly keeps holding up long after anybody remembers doing it, and it never announces that it is working. Quality is mostly invisible, which is exactly why it is so easy to skip.
Take the one job this week you were going to rush and do the whole of it instead. Tighten everything, check it, put it back the way it should go. The reward is a problem that never happens, so you will have to notice it yourself.
What have you had to redo because of rushing it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
