Every team needs someone willing to say “this isn’t working” before it becomes obvious to everyone.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Problems are visible long before anybody says them out loud, because the first person to speak risks looking negative or disloyal. So everyone waits, the thing gets worse, and by the time it is undeniable the cost has multiplied. Whoever absorbs that small social risk early saves the group a large amount later.

If something has been quietly not working for a while, say it plainly and without drama at the next sensible moment. Describe what you are seeing rather than who is at fault. Say it once and let people sit with it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What is failing around you that nobody has named out loud?

Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
