STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Information moves in one direction. Once a detail is out, it can be repeated, screenshotted, remembered, and brought up years later, and no amount of regret retrieves it. Keeping it in the first place costs nothing; getting it back costs everything and usually fails. That asymmetry is the whole argument for caution.
Before sharing something you might want back, ask whether you would be comfortable with it existing permanently. If not, the moment to decide is now rather than after. Silence is always still available; disclosure is not.
What have you shared that you can never take back?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
