Curiosity about how things are made changes how you treat them. Ask who built the chair you’re sitting on.

Objects arrive looking inevitable, as though they had always existed, which makes them easy to treat carelessly. Asking who made the chair under you puts hands and hours back into it: somebody chose that joint, somebody cut the timber, somebody loaded it onto a lorry. It gets harder to break or discard something once it has people in it. Attention and care turn out to be closely related.
Pick one object you use daily and find out how it is made. Then look at what you own that is nearly worn out and ask what could be repaired instead of replaced.
Who made something you use daily and never think about?
