Credibility cannot be borrowed indefinitely from a title.

REFLECTION
A title gets you an initial hearing and not much more. People extend some credit on the strength of the position, and then quite quickly start updating based on what you actually say and whether it holds up. Continuing to rely on the role after that is a slow way to lose the room. Authority buys attention; only accuracy keeps it.
Notice whether you are being listened to because of your position or because of your record. If it is the position, spend the credit on getting something right rather than on being deferred to. Earned standing outlasts every job you will hold.
What would you still be trusted for without your job title?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
